Reiki
Pronounced (Ray - Key)
Usui Reiki
Reiki is one of the most popular forms of energy healing around the world. There are countless varieties of Reiki that have been developed over the decades. Usui Reiki is considered the grandfather of all other forms.
So what is Reiki specifically?
It is universal (or divine) energy that is channeled through the practitioner to the person with whom they are working. Like water that is channeled through a pipe to quench your thirst, Reiki is channeled from the divine to aide in your healing.
Can I learn Reiki?
Yes. To become a Reiki channel you must be attuned to Reiki in the same way you tune a radio to hear your favorite music. Attunements to Reiki are performed by a Reiki Master/Teacher. A Reiki Master is one who has not only been attuned to Reiki but has also learned how to use the skills, ethics and morals that are at the heart of Reiki. Learning Reiki is easy and recommended to anyone who has the desire. In case you were wondering, I am an Usui Reiki Master/Teacher that is able to give Reiki sessions and attunements.
What is the difference between a "session" and an "attunement"?
A session involves me sending Reiki to you. An attunement involves me "tuning" your radio dial so that you can give Reiki to yourself and others.
What can Reiki do?
It can help to jump start your body's natural ability to heal. Our bodies instinctively know how to heal us in the best way for us. Often times we become less at ease emotionally, physically and mentally by the stress of our modern world. Reiki can help us to mentally relax, physically de-stress and emotionally feel more calm and less pulled in all directions. This, in turn, will allow our body to have sufficient energy to heal itself.
Do we have to be in the same room for me to receive Reiki?
Nope. Part of the training to become a Master/Teacher of Reiki is how to send it over long distances. Distance is not an obstacle. You can receive Reiki just as easy if you are on the moon as if you were in the same room.
Is long distance Reiki as effective as being in the same room?
Yes. Just as there is no distance barrier to recieve Reiki, it is as effective long distance. Remember, Reiki is universal energy. All that is required to have a positive experience in a Reiki session is to receive it from someone who has been trained and be open to receiving it.
What Reiki can't do?
Be a replacement for needed professional treatment by a doctor. In much the same way that a massage or doing yoga can give you a better sense of well being, Reiki can also help you feel more relaxed and offer healing. But you wouldn't go for a massage if you had a broken bone. Reiki should, at best, be used in addition to your doctor's care.
What does Reiki feel like?
This is a difficult question to answer because Reiki feels different to different people. The most common sensations from those that receive Reiki are a feeling of warmth or tingling. To many, Reiki is also very relaxing and a few people feel sleepy after receiving a session.
